Every two years in Bryan, a judge is appointed by ordinance and approved by the city council. This year, Tiffany Thomas was honored to accept the position and was unanimously approved by Bryan City Council during Tuesday’s meeting.
Effective May 1, 2024, Thomas will be sworn in as the new presiding municipal court judge for the Bryan Municipal Court of Record. Previously, she served as a prosecutor for the city of Bryan for nearly eight years.
“I would just like to say I’m grateful for this opportunity to serve the city council, city of Bryan and my fellow citizens,” she said during Tuesday’s meeting.
“I strive to serve the public in a fair, efficient and accountable manner while also contributing to the quality of life in our community by impartially ensuring justice is done,” she added in a statement.
